Diagnosis-First Facial Volume Assessment
Diagnosis-First Facial Volume Assessment
01 / How it works
Every filler product has its own composition, physical properties, treatment areas, duration, warnings, and Malaysian Medical Device Authority (MDA) registration. Dermal fillers are not topical moisturisers or cosmetic serums. They are classified as medical devices or device–medicine combination products intended to temporarily alter soft-tissue contour.
While some products use hyaluronic acid (HA), others contain calcium hydroxylapatite (CaHA), poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA), polycaprolactone (PCL), or polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA). These materials are not interchangeable. For instance, HA filler is a water-binding gel that adds immediate volume, whereas a biostimulatory PLLA product acts mainly through a gradual tissue response. Patients from JB and Singapore must understand that topical hyaluronic-acid skincare and injectable hyaluronic-acid filler are not equivalent products. Filler also differs entirely from BOTOX®, which reduces muscle activity, or skin boosters, which primarily target skin quality.
