Who may benefit
It may be suitable after assessment, but Asian and darker skin can develop post-inflammatory pigmentation. Skin type, melasma, eczema and recent sun exposure must be reviewed.

Tap eight clinical checkpoints. The dashboard distinguishes mild eyelid-skin laxity from dermatochalasis, true ptosis, prolapsed orbital fat, tear-trough hollowing and multifactorial dark circles; compares SmoothEye with VectorLift and selected Er:YAG or Nd:YAG roles; and highlights dry-eye review, Asian-skin PIH, device verification, wavelength-appropriate protection and urgent visual symptoms.
Doctor-Led Periocular Diagnosis Identify whether the concern comes from skin, brow position, muscle/tendon function, fat, hollowing, pigment, vessels or inflammation.
“One Eye-Laser Package Treats Everything” Use the same laser plan for wrinkles, eye bags, true ptosis, tear troughs and every form of dark circle.
Published evidence suggests that selected non-ablative Er:YAG protocols may improve periocular wrinkles and mild laxity, but available studies are relatively small and cannot predict the result for every patient.
Gradual Improvement: True collagen remodelling develops gradually over several months. Any early tightness is often temporary thermal contraction or swelling. Results vary depending on your baseline tissue health and recovery response. There is no compulsory treatment package; while clinical studies often utilise a series of sessions, the number you may need depends entirely on your diagnosis and tissue response.

06 / Before you decide
Each treatment has its own considerations. Your consultation is the place to discuss expected benefits, possible side effects, alternatives and anything that may affect timing.
Read about informed consent07 / Recovery
Periocular laser treatment carries a risk of serious eye injury. Wavelength-appropriate eye protection is absolutely essential during the procedure; closing your eyes or wearing ordinary sunglasses is completely inadequate for medical laser safety. Treatment must stop immediately if protection becomes displaced.
Depending on the selected mode, patients may experience warmth, tingling, stinging, temporary redness, swelling, dryness, and superficial peeling. Less common but important complications include burns, blistering, post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH), uneven darkening, and scarring. Asian skin (Fitzpatrick III-V) often requires cautious energy planning to minimise PIH risk.
During recovery, you must use broad-spectrum sun protection without irritating the eyes and avoid harsh exfoliants. If you experience eye pain, sudden blurred vision, flashes, new floaters, or changes in your visual field, you must seek urgent ophthalmic or emergency medical assessment without waiting for a routine aesthetic follow-up.

Not always. SmoothEye is a specific non-ablative Er:YAG treatment for selected periocular wrinkles and skin laxity. “Fotona Eye Laser” may be used as a broader clinic term.
SmoothEye mainly addresses periocular skin and wrinkles. VectorLift focuses more on selected forehead, eyebrow-tail and upper-eyelid support, although their treatment areas can overlap.
It may improve selected mild skin laxity, but it does not remove prolapsed orbital fat. Prominent eye bags may require another treatment or surgical assessment.
It does not correct every drooping eyelid. True ptosis, major dermatochalasis or neurological eyelid drooping may require ophthalmic or surgical assessment.
