Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) is an autologous, blood-derived preparation that involves collecting a sample of your own blood, separating a platelet-enriched plasma component, and administering it according to an investigational protocol. PRP is not stem-cell therapy, and it is not an exosome treatment.

01 / How it works
Evidence Limitations: Available studies are often limited by small sample sizes, short follow-up, and highly variable preparation protocols. Differences in PRP preparation make study results difficult to generalise. While early studies may suggest possible benefit in selected patients, the evidence is not sufficient to establish routine effectiveness.

06 / Before you decide
Because PRP preparations vary widely, verifying the exact clinical system is critical. We ensure the exact PRP kit, centrifuge, and single-use components are verified, including Medical Device Authority (MDA) registration where applicable. However, the intended purpose of the exact PRP system must be checked separately from the proposed clinical use—device registration does not automatically establish an approved indication for erectile dysfunction.
Using autologous blood does not mean the procedure is risk-free. Possible complications include injection pain, bleeding, bruising, haematoma, significant swelling, infection, altered sensation, tissue injury, and fibrosis. Furthermore, there is a risk of treatment failure or worsening symptoms. Before proceeding, we discuss postponement or urology referral for patients with active infections, significant cardiovascular instability, unexplained penile lesions, or Peyronie’s disease.
